Water soluble oils
What are water soluble oils?
Water soluble oils are sometimes called
water mixable oils. Water soluble oils are very much like
traditional oils in traditional oil paint but they are used
with water instead of thinner to dilute and clean up.
Does the color in the water soluble oils
tube contain water?
No. The color in the water soluble oil paint
tube does not contain water. The color in the water soluble oil
paint tube only contains water mixable linseed oil. Water may
be added to thin the water soluble oil paint but in a very
small amount.
What are the benefits of using water
soluble oils and water soluble oil paint?
There are many benefits of using water
soluble oils and water soluble oil paint. Painting with water
soluble oils is easier than painting with traditional oil paint
especially for those oil paint artists who are have problems
using traditional oil paint thinner.
Toxic nature of oil paint solvents and
thinners
Water soluble oils are less toxic than
traditional oil paint. Water soluble oils cause fewer breathing
and skin problems.
What are water soluble oils (or water
soluble oil paint) made of?
Water soluble oils or water soluble oil
paints are alternative to traditional oils and traditional oil
paints. Water soluble oils have the same buttery feeling, the
same intensity and the same volume as traditional oil
paints. The appearance of traditional oil painting and
water soluble oil painting is almost identical. They almost
look the same on canvas and canvas paper. Water soluble oils
may dry faster.
