Answer: Soft Pastels: This is the most widely used form of pastel. The sticks have a higher proportion of pigment and less binder, resulting in brighter Colors. The drawing can be easily blurred and mixed, but it leads to a higher proportion of dust. Drawings made with Soft Pastels require a fixation of the ink . prevent Oil Pastel (also called wax oil crayon) is a painting and drawing medium with characteristics similar to pastels and wax crayons. Unlike "soft" or "French" pastel sticks, which are made with a gum or methyl cellulose binder, Oil Pastels consist of pigment mixed with a non-drying Oil and wax binder. The surface of an Oil Pastel is therefore less powder, but more difficult to protect with a fixative. Crayon: These have a smooth, Butter sauce consistency and intense colors. They are somewhat more difficult to blend than Soft Pastels, but do not require a fixative. Sorry, I'm no artist, but I hope this can help you.
