Question: Can I artist Oil Paint on a metal mailbox?I use acrylic craft paint, followed by clear acrylic spray to protect the decorative Items from the mailbox. I am concidering using gesso to prime the surface.
Answer: I have painted many saw blades with oil. and a few mailboxes. Oil is ok, but prep is important. Oils will not lose their color and fade to stay longer than acrylic and not so fast. after Grinding wash vinagar. Use the oil directly from the tube when you thin its "stick" to lose the ability.
