Newton Watercolor Paint

Question: Would ruin Winsor and Newton Series 7 watercolor brush to paint when I use it with oil?

I plan to use Winsor and Newton Series 7 watercolor brush with Oil Paint. Some Internet sites say that the strong solvent brush damaged, but others say that it thoroughly if nothing I clean. They are the finest Kolinsky brush and I'm worried about ruining them. What can I trust? Has anyone ever attempted Series 7 with Oil Paint? PS I know that different types of sable brushes (Red, Flick, and synthetic bristles), but I'm specifically asking Winsor and Newton Series 7

Answer: I agree with Mia. My watercolor teacher told me that both of them, if you use watercolor brush to paint in oils, solvents to be used to clean the brushes to make them unusable for watercolor again. The solvent to the outer cuticle layer of hair off, or close The hair cuticle completely, so it not to expand again. The opening of the hair cuticle in watercolor brush is what their water carrying capacity. They ruin with the solvent. I have to ask why do you want to use oils watercolor brush? If you buy the brushes themselves, you know, the price for them. If you do not buy they themselves must know that the finest Kolinsky Sable brushes brushes run in the hundreds of dollars for just one large one. I just opened the sales by a catalog of the art houses to buy supplies from online: Cheap Joe's Art Stuff. The catalog lists 7 Series Limited Edition W & N Pure Kolinsky Sable Size 12 brush is on sale for $ 141.79US. When paying full price, it is listed as $ 465.00US. Why would you want to ruin the chance of a Brush Set to take expensive?

Tubes Pigment

Question: I've wrote my own experiment Chromatography and I will evaluate, in the conditions, how to improve and, perhaps?

what works well has. Here is my method: Method 1) Add a small amount of propanone in the mortar. Place a handful of nettle leaves in the mortar 2) Grind the nettles in propanone and a moderate amount of pigmented solution 3) Use the filter paper in the beaker, filter the solution in one. 4) Take a piece of paper for chromatography and draw a line from a 10mm ends. Mark a dot in the middle of the line here is the pigment. 5) Use the pipette solution to extract a sample of the drawn and then a drop on the spot as before. Let the drop dry, and then place a second small drop in the first. Repeat this process 5 times to build a concentrated pigment in the small area. 6) During the preparation of the pigment-spot, pour the solvent into the boiling tube into a Depth of not more than 15mm. 7) Fold the opposite end of the paper for chromatography and sets in the paper chromatography boiling tube.

Answer: A good overview. If you have local solvent to a depth of 15 mm, you need to have your set higher, because you want it to be the solvent to be above the level. You should be near the end of the boiling tube with a plug or some sort of film. You should then leave the experiment standing in one place without a draft and if possible a fairly constant temperature. Experiment would improve enormously if you ran a parallel experiment with ethanol as solvent, to see whether this difference was not. Good luck.

Artist Flat Brush

Question: Why are my Acrylic Painting look so elementary? Its like looking for property ... hard to explain?

As with Acrylic Paint in this picture it looks so real: http://www.williampowell-artist.com/PageMill_Resources/image93.gif but my painting looks as flat or something, I buy my paint from Walmart and plus in the painting on regular typing paper .... thats extra thick for typing could do something about it? In the condition, I need to know how to draw good before I paint right? I can pretty well but I cannot pull my color to look good, it always looks so childish. How do different brushes also a difference ? Make Thanks

Answer: Billy, a large part is only the practice of it. Get a book of photos and just in the colors and shapes to . Search Forget about the objects they represent. Start with simple things. Just paint an apple or a ball, it does not matter. This is only practice. You must to work colors, how to make your mixing and blending. And yes, make brushes difference. Technology is also important. Look at all the brushes in the store. Everyone had a job to . Do A fan brush is not the same as a liner. They must learn what brush to use, what effect and how to use it. Also you use rare color directly from the Tube. If you use to Acrylic Paints, you need to add color things to make it more workable. That is the big problem with buying things in Discont stores. The people there know nothing. Shop to save a real art. The people there you can usually all kinds of hints and tips. On, and get right paper to paint on. Better yet, you should canvas board. But now get some heavyweight watercolor paper. Go to the library and see if they have no books. Find an Art Supplies store in your area and ask people there if they know whether there is a class that could take you. Finally, photo-realism must not be Your style. It is more than just an image reproducing art. You want to put your feelings into the work. A sunset is more than what it looks like, what it means to you the Feeling type? You can style a little more abstract. That is allright. Learn the basics, but to find a style that is right for you. Kepp going. Joe
