Paint Cadmium

Question: I am an artist with a pregnant question?

I am a male artist and I'm pregnant, I use Acrylic Paints, and I have also airbrush on canvas, I wonder if they are both safe, I know I said in the past has been that Cadmium Red, and other health-specific colors if swallowed or inhaled, if you have a large quantity of certain colors such as airbrush, I would do this in what would have been my formal dining room, But it is now an art space, it is an open space with no doors, vents and 1-2 and is in the ground floor, which is pretty much an open floor plan, what are Your thoughts? Is it safe to continue my painting and airbrush, one is better than the others, I make all possibility of birth defects by doing either? Was I any Kind of mask and gloves, or is not necessary? Any advice and knowledge would appreciate ...

Answer: I am an artist, have a degree in chemistry, and am also pregnant. Yes, you must be careful to use for the metal colors (red and yellow tones cadmium) and solvents that you, to clean your equipment / brushes. In a well ventilated room, with a mask for particles, you should be good. Try not to paint to get on the skin, because you quickly absorb the chemicals, if ... They paint what I want to try, perhaps, gloves .... I'm notorious for always paint everywhere. If you ever start to feel dizzy, that's a red flag that you breathe too much solvent. Take the change as a cue to stop painting and be sure to your set-up air. Generally, if you feel fine, the baby feels good (it is the same system for cleaning the house - you can do it, but stop when you feel sick, the exhaust gases). When in doubt, call the doctor for advice and / or consider switching to the secure media.

Oil Paint

Question: Why does my oil paint colors fade after a while?

I notice that after I oil and dried after painting to paint, the colors fade. You do not look as rich. I use high quality oils such as Williamsburg and Windsor & Newton. I do not understand why my colors fade. The only Way to distinguish them, the use of paint after the paint has dried. But I wonder why the colors fade. Who knows?

Answer: I think what you are is talk luster. When colors are wet, they have a really nice sheen to them that can flatten as they dry, depending on how much solvent You use. The best way to combat this is to add media like linseed oil, oil level, galkyd paint, etc to your computer. This aids in thinning of the paint and make it easier to work with, but not dry it out and making it appear chalky and flat, like turpentine / turpenoid / other solvents do. A classic Medium mixture for general painting consists of 1 part oil (stand, flaxseed, and what ever you prefer), 1 part paint (Damar, galkyd, etc), and some solvents (Turpentine, turpenoid, gamsol, etc). To increase the drying time, you can add a few drops of Japan drier, but this only add a little bit, or you'll risk Cracking and other problems later on! Also, remember that Damar varnish does not mix well with turpenoid. Use only with pure turpentine, gum or gamsol for best results. As you get used to different media, you will learn what works best for you. I personally love the splendor and rapidity of the drying of coatings provided, so my general Mediums tends to be about 70% varnish. This is what I describe each painting, however, and if I, say, chalky like, maybe I'll just with my gamsol . Paint If I want super shiny, show something, maybe I'll just. Use galkyd fading over time may be due to the interaction of light with pigments, and Most colors are lightfast ratings on the tubes to tell you how to keep it under lights. However, this is not something that would be felt for weeks in a matter of days - it can take years, pigments, actually fade. Hope that helped http://www.rosebriccetti.com! Acrylic Paints

Question: What are the best types of acrylic paints for artists?

My sister is an artist, I want to color it for her birthday and I know that she paints in acrylics - what are the best (highest quality using) colors for artists? Thanks

Answer: The colors are divided into categories by how much pigment into the filler tube. Color pigment is more expensive and less filler. Grad student are much filler, so that the color is weak, but they are cheap. Now ... I would find a way to find out what uses your sister. Get the same thing. Switching, is sometimes not the best. You get used to is used to switch to the use of a particular thing, then, can also better quality, you take the practice. I personally Utrecht colors love. At least for the Acrylic Painting. They make their own. Be considered, oh, a low-end class Artist. A little more than middle class. But it is what I mean by accustomed. Do you have a tube of paint better than they once were of a certain color, but he does not have as my trusted brand to behave. Thus sneek into her hiding place and see what they used. That would probably be the best. Nothing wrong with always a few colors not already in hiding.
