Question: How to paint flat black mahogany drum set?I wanted my Yamaha Custom Paint RYDEEN drums flat black. However imkind of fear because their skin is covered in a sort of black plastic packaging. im not sure whether I should take off and paint the mahogany or from the plastic and put the color on this one. if someone could tell me that would be better and how the painting that would be great. Thanks a ton
Answer: In my honest opinion I Would not Paint It Because it is mahogany, As Ever If You Really Want To Be I, Flat Black ... You Will Need Some Fine sandpaper (180 grain) and some good Quilty Flat Black Paint (If You Know Anybody that works in an auto paint shop, you could shoot them in Talk To The Pieces For You), make sure you take off or cover with tape any Peices You Do not Want painted. Sand, wipe (do, tape or remove), dry paint, can add Second / Third paint, remove tape (assembly) ... Enjoy your "new" Drum Set. Good Luck Good Luck
