Question: Can someone identify artists of oil / acrylic Impressionist painting (rain and umbrellas) 4ft x 5ft signed Ferrante?Built by the artist who with Artmaster studios, San Fernando, Calif., was connected. At least 30yo.
Answer: Artmaster Studios was a company that produced the artwork for the furniture trade. Ferrante was one of their artists, but there is no information about him (it was probably a pseudonym). It should not be confused with the Italian / California artist Mario de Ferrante. Ferrante (Artmaster Studios) images appear on eBay at prices of $ 200 to $ 500. I recently saw a painting signed at an auction website Ferrante representing the seller as Mario De Ferrante, but it was not his signature. (Warranty is always the rule of eBay). I do not, the history of Artmaster but I know that both Artmaster and Vanguard Studios (which, incidentally, was started in the 60s by Lee Reynolds Burr) both were acquired Interiors, Inc. of New York. In the late 90's Interiors, Inc. merged Artmaster subsidiary Vanguard in the subsidiary. The Artmaster name was dropped instead of Vanguard. , I do not have a list of all the artists from Artmaster, but a few are Ferrante I remember, and Huntington. As with many commercial studios, the art is decent quality. Many of the Vanguard artists from the early days (under the direction by Lee Reynolds) went their own solo careers. "
