Answer: depends on how you want your paint. Some companies add fillers or other materials on, even the consistency, add some more oil than others, in some of the ultramarine, for example, is very tough and difficult to maneuver. Some companies have specific Pallets aligned - to the Sennelier Impressionists, for example. WN is best known and probably completely reliable; Old Holland until recently had an authentic 17thC Range, but has new lines and synthetic pigments, Williamsburg has a number of unusual earth; Blockx is wonderful with color. M. Graham produces superior quality in a limited palette. Yarka comes from Russia and there are several brands from China which are not recommended, because there are no safety standards in this country. So, as you see can, there is no "best" brand. But the experience you will be one to the point that you prefer to use.
