Question: What color wood with oil paint on craft?I have a wooden toy, I would like to paint. I did it with the white painted acrylic paint and now wonder if I use the artisan oil paints (water miscible) at the top of the acrylic. I'm with natural brushes, but the color was not as smooth as I wanted. I wonder if the artist a kind of spray to use for the base and then paint with brushes. So can I or should I oil paint with acrylic paints further. Even if it's done, I need to cover toys with paint? Thank you.
Answer: If your looking for at a very stop natural shade, I would stick with the acrylic. I think oils are good for the waste, acrylic for different color ranges. I use the Artisan Oils, and sometimes it can take days / weeks to dry.
