Question: Help with Oil Painting?I bought a couple of times today, but really do not know if I need a 'medium' is Here's what I (As far as colors) * Grumbach (brand) Academy Oil Paint, is the black color it has on this #: T11511 I also * Grumbach "max'' and this is Red I do not know if will help do that, but I have mediums, or something else? I do not do anything huge, its a 11x14 canvas. I just wanted to test oil, because I she had never used. Thanks
Answer: You want to ensure that your canvas Gesso, if not already. They have not really to use on a medium, but it's a color to go much easier. Galkyd works for thinning oil Paints Large, and makes them go smoothly. Any kind of store, that oils should wear it bears. I like to use the slow drying nature, as it holds fast from drying out things when I want. Also Odorless Mineral Spirits works great for cleaning brushes, so make sure not to pour it down the drain.
