Question: Why gesso Add sparkling water if you use it?I've been using Liquitex Basics Acrylic Gesso and if I add water-based paint to my canvas, the canvas blowing throws. Can I tell someone what I do wrong? I have other gessos used, but they have never bubbled, even if they get wet.
Answer: From a chemical point of gesso is just a mineral, calcium carbonate. Put that in water, that no CO2 dissolved in it and it is in response to a bicarbonate. Try to develop it not with distilled water.
