Question: Can I use regular oil on hand color a black and white photo?I learned about hand coloring a photograph ... is great! Now I do not do a CD with my order and negatives all at iPhoto. But I'm a bit short of money and have my Winsor and Newton Oils ... I can paint on a Photo photo instead of oils?
Answer: This is how we were actually told to do it when I was at art college, but you have to have the actual B / W print. Use it directly from the tube and rub very gently with a soft cloth, with only a small amount at a time. You can only a pale shadow and it's a bit chaotic, but it is also some nice effects.
